Repairing timber fixtures and fitted items

Joinery and carpentry can include repairs or replacement to doors, frames, skirtings, architraves, boxing, shelving, worktops and fitted units. Assessment considers the item itself, its dimensions and material, how it is fixed and any connected hardware.

A damaged edge, loose joint or door that repeatedly needs adjustment may call for different work. The required finish and any non-standard dimensions need to be understood before a replacement is selected.

Work needing separate assessment

Fire doors and other life-safety elements need specialist scope and evidence. Structural alterations are not included in a routine joinery instruction unless separately assessed and authorised. Concealed conditions, dimensions and material availability can affect the work and programme.
