Doors, Windows and Glazing

Doors, windows and glazing repairs

A damaged opening, broken glass or worn hardware can make a property difficult to use or secure. Repair decisions consider the frame, glass, seals, hinges, handles and locks together with the surrounding material.

Depending on the assessment, the agreed work may involve adjustment, replacement hardware or seals, replacement glass or a glazing unit, or renewal of the opening. Dimensions, compatibility and safety-glass requirements are confirmed for the specific job.

Describe the problem

  • Identify the property and the affected opening.
  • Explain whether it is damaged, sticking, leaking or not operating as expected.
  • Include any dimensions, product information or previous repair details already available.
  • Explain occupancy, access arrangements and the practical effect on the property.

Include photographs only where they can be taken safely. Photographs and visible damage do not determine a repair method or quotation on their own.

Scope and specialist work

Black & White Property Services assesses the requirement before confirming acceptance and who will deliver it. Boarding-up is separately authorised where it falls outside the agreed instruction. Structural, fire-rated, regulated or certification-dependent work needs appropriate specialist input.
